A lot of progress has been made on the supported controls and configuration flexibility. I’ll let the following teaser screenshot speak for itself:

  2. Ye - # January 18th, 2007 at 6:47 am

  5. Kaito - # January 18th, 2007 at 7:25 am

OK Thats awesome but not too many ppl has a xbox 360 controller and i dont even got a gamepad so what am i supposed to do i mean it would be awesome if cc could have 4 players 😀 :D.. but do you think this could be configured to work with a ps3 contoller cause that has a usb connection soo 🙁 that would be awesome indeed

  6. Ye - # January 18th, 2007 at 9:04 am

    Yeah, i’m buying ps3 so i could play with it’s controller…
    That’d be c00lz0r

  7. GiantPixel - # January 18th, 2007 at 9:11 am

    Thats cool 🙂
But I still play with my Keyboard, Computer rockz 😀
    Keep up the good work^^

  8. Persh - # January 18th, 2007 at 10:02 am

Could we get widescreen support if you happen to be bored? CC refuses to run at 1680×1050 fullscreen, but does do 1280×1024.

  9. Kurrus - # January 18th, 2007 at 11:51 am

4 PLAYERS!!! OH, MY GOD!!!! OH, MY GOD!!! OH MY, GOOOOOOOD!! YAAAAAARGH!!! (drum solo) YESSS! OH YEH!!! YES YES!!!!!

4 Player Brain vs. Brain *drools*….

  11. Foogooman - # January 18th, 2007 at 11:56 am

    O.o?!

    :O

  12. assd - # January 18th, 2007 at 11:56 am

what about ppl with wireless 360 controllers :O?

  13. Skjef - # January 18th, 2007 at 12:13 pm

Thanks! Any chance of you releasing another test build with just this new functionality so us poor sods without X360 controllers don’t have to wait?

  14. Officer_Bulbock - # January 18th, 2007 at 12:31 pm

    That is so awesome.

  15. Axxel - # January 18th, 2007 at 12:37 pm

@Persh: That’s probably because 1680×1050 isn’t a 4:3 ratio, so it’d have to stretch the screen or put black bars at both sides of the ‘window’. Bah, I don’t get why people use such high resolutions anyway. I’m on 1024×768, even though my monitor can do much higher than that.

  16. GiantPixel - # January 18th, 2007 at 1:42 pm

    @AXXEL because its coooler ;D
Of course only if you’ve got the right PC..

  17. Fearful Ferret - # January 18th, 2007 at 2:57 pm

Woah, 4 players! I hope we get network play really soon, considering the lack of gamepads in my immediate vicinity..

  18. Lorne Whiting - # January 18th, 2007 at 3:05 pm

    Welcome back, Dan. Looks good.

  19. Tomaster - # January 18th, 2007 at 4:11 pm

    THANK YOU

  20. Striker26 - # January 18th, 2007 at 4:15 pm

finally mouse compatibility and 4 player!
    Awesome!

  21. Persh - # January 18th, 2007 at 4:46 pm

I use such a high resolution because I have a 21 inch monitor, and anything less causes stretching beyond all belief. [I DO have 2x nVidia 7900 GT’s in SLI however, so it’s not like it taxes my computer much]

  22. Acehead45 - # January 18th, 2007 at 6:06 pm

    Can’t wait 😀

  23. TheLastBanana - # January 18th, 2007 at 6:20 pm

I’ve gotta say, that considering you guys are taking a break, you sure get a lot of work done!
Personally, I barely get any done, no matter how much time I have.
Anyway, nice control improvements, I like ’em.

  24. Giant.Metal.Idiot - # January 18th, 2007 at 8:23 pm

I would like to see proper resolution changing as a feature in a new version, anyway, mouse and keyboard? (Falls off his chair in excitement)

  25. Metroid48 - # January 18th, 2007 at 9:31 pm

YES!! Btw, I don’t get resolutions as high as 1680×1050 either. I use a widescreen 1280×800 which works perfectly fine.

Anyway, 4 player support is great! Now just add multiplayer LAN and we’ll all be laughing… full-screens each!

Can’t wait to see this build… keep up the good work!

Something that a lot of you aren’t commenting about is… MOUSE?! That’s so freakin’ sweet! For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, look at player 4’s controls.

    “Keyb + Mouse”

    *drool*

  27. BreenedandScrooned - # January 19th, 2007 at 3:33 am

Cortex Command needs LAN, I can imagine the area around the computer getting a little cramped, but I’m sure it’ll still be fun.

  28. Persh - # January 19th, 2007 at 10:11 am

If Cortex Command gets LAN, Hamachi can take care of actual online games.

  29. ToonyMan - # January 19th, 2007 at 10:30 am

    Seems cool. (I hate teasers)

  30. Pork - # January 19th, 2007 at 12:19 pm

How can I have four players if I have wireless controllers?

  31. Electrocuter - # January 19th, 2007 at 12:58 pm

Keyb + Mouse, WOOHOOO, now those dropships will get some serious ass kicking when i start aiming with the mouse since i always had problems aiming with the keyboard and miss them by an inch.

  32. Jonnern - # January 19th, 2007 at 1:27 pm

    how do i get this????(sorry i`m a noob!)

  33. anonymous - # January 19th, 2007 at 2:23 pm

    I *heart* hamachi!

  34. Zoodle - # January 19th, 2007 at 5:50 pm

@Jonnern: You can’t get this yet, this is just a sneak peek at what’s to come.

  35. Data - # January 19th, 2007 at 6:31 pm

Pork, I hear there’s a wireless adapter out (or coming out) so you can coennct up to four wireless Xbox 360 controllers to your PC!

Keyboard and mouse? Wahey! That’s brilliant!

  37. Radoslaw Majewski - # January 20th, 2007 at 9:35 am

    Keyboard + Mouse setup! Yay!

  38. Kazuki :3 - # January 20th, 2007 at 12:47 pm

    I love you Data.

  39. Galaxy613 - # January 20th, 2007 at 4:33 pm

Any chance of a resolution other than 640×480? I have already haxxed the game to go 800×600, but the right side the screen is whack. Would it be possible to make 800×600 the native resolution? Or at least support it? That would be AWESOME.

  40. kokits - # January 20th, 2007 at 11:33 pm

Hey data, any idea when the ne build will be out? I know you don’t want to get us all excited like last time, but can you give us an estimate? One month? Maybe two?

  41. Data - # January 21st, 2007 at 3:58 am

Just sign up for the email alert and you’ll know 🙂

Will be less than a month, that’s all i’m going to say!

  42. kokits - # January 21st, 2007 at 9:59 am

    Yay! Thanks Data!

Keep up the good work, but don’t be rushed. You spent a lot of time on the dropship, and it turned out great! I’m sure that if you need extra time to work on sumthin’ it’s for a good reason.

  43. ntc - # January 22nd, 2007 at 5:43 am

    Hi Data.

Just found this site! Love your work, first time I played this game and it totally rocks. Do you guys have a paypal donate page or anything? I’d be totally happy to donate for the work you have put into this 🙂

    xbox360 controllers? NOOBS! 😉

  44. Dennis - # January 24th, 2007 at 12:19 pm

    WOW!!! Finally Mouse Aiming \o/

And… Data, when the Final version os CC is released, it will be paid?? If yes… You will lose one player, because i live in Brazil and can’t buy games like that…

  45. Batesman - # January 25th, 2007 at 12:42 pm

  46. Demetrius - # January 25th, 2007 at 1:48 pm

    4players?!

  47. Nikola - # January 27th, 2007 at 2:42 am

WIth CPU as co.op. woul be good! But can you play with all four players on the keyboard and can you change that one or two players are off so you can play with three or two players and change that the players can be CPU????

  48. Lernatix - # September 28th, 2009 at 7:48 am

I keep pressing “ESC” by instinct as that’s how most
games pause. But instead of a pause/menu screen I get
dumped back to the main menu, losing all my progress.

Please tell me this won’t be in the final product.
