Awesome! Any chance of putting a Linux version on Steam?

  2. Data - # April 17th, 2014 at 11:34 pm

OSX and linux/SteamOS are both being worked on by our dedicated Porting Guru, Chris Kruger – so yeah, soon

Sorry to hear that, as cavecricket’s been telling people that the plan was to release on all platforms at the same time.

Congrats on the new build, team! Also data looks handsome as fuck, no homo.

Nice Post, by the way there is a cut-off of text at the bottom of front page

Glad to see B30 released, now i just have to wait for the OSX build :3
Is it noted anywhere that it’s only the windows release that include all these fixes and features? else you might see some upset or just confused OSX users on the forums 😉

    Anyway.. Congrats ^^

    Dat golden Build 30

Is licensing.datarealms.com going to be updated? I’d rather not use Steam to launch CC.

    Also: YEAH

Man, grown so much since you started. The more you work on it, the less compatible it becomes with my system hahaha, time to update my end anyway.

keep up the good work, guys!

Great job guys! Cortex Command holds a special place in my heart because modding it is what originally got me interested in programming. Now I’m programming for a job! I really appreciate all the hard work you’ve put in!

Any chance the game can be optimized so that it doesn’t force the computer to run it solely off of its processor alone? I have an I7 and I still get lagged down during big battles.

    Wu-what? It lives again!

Glad I read the comments so I know that the OSX build isn’t out yet. Pretty excited, though. CC is still the most actual Fun I’ve had in a game in a long time.

Awesome, the update I’ve been waiting for—(for 2 years…)so much more great now since when I picked it up for a second time on steam. Worth the wait. And Data, those so-called big time mamsy pamsy “game critics” don’t know what they’re talking about. I’d like to see them try and dedicate more time, effort, sweat, blood, tears and pieces of their own soul to making a project like yours.

Don’t worry OSX and Linux will be out soon. Working on it now. Just a few kinks to sort out.

I’m a long time CC fan, and I love the game, but I really just need to face it, this is the worst build ever (maybe with the exception of the update before lua.)

This game has just been run into the ground for years and years. With a few exceptions, every single build runs worse than the last one. Sure, you fixed some lag issues a while ago, but this build has terrible lag spikes (and crashing.)

And as for “adding” pvp Brain vs. Brain, it was effectively there not too long ago, you just removed it so that you could re-add it with fewer maps and only two players.

So basically, this build has the cons of terrible lag spikes and crashing for the pros of supposedly better AI (though I swear that digging AI is worse) and a “new” version of BvB.

Sorry, I just can’t pretend you are improving the game anymore! 🙁

So maybe if you re-added an easy four player game mode (since nobody I play with actually likes the Meta-Game) and optimized the game I would play it, but really, there just isn’t much to play for me.

I’ll play CC every once and a while, I’ll keep up to date because I love you, but CC is pretty much dead to me now. . .

Kewfest, sorry you aren’t satisfied. We certainly worked hard on the AI and the optimizations in general, and beleive we made big improvements. For additional game modes etc I can recommend you should try some of the workshop mods, on steam (or from the forums)
