should the names be nerdy and boring or out of character but cool?
if nerdy: gamma-43:9 {space coordinates for the solar system and an alpha beta thing to show which planet it is from the sun, if mankind as you say has discovered many planets this is more likely to be used.
if cool: menimperon (taken from the Latin word “mens imperium”
which quite literally mean “mind control” which i thought was appropriate.) -

dont you think its more likely humanity would name a planet via numbers and letters rather than giving each individual planet a creative name?
i mean, we would have found hundreds, pfft, thousands if we traveled that much, and i know id be damn tired of finding an appropriate name. maybe the colonists/miners could give it a nickname, as well as an official name. -
