The IGF finalists have been announced. Congrats to all the nominees, especially our friends at 2D boy with their fantastic looking World of Goo entry!

Cortex Command was in the running again this year, but unfortunately didn’t make it. Perhaps next year when there should to be a full campaign and more polish — we’ll certainly try yet again. In the mean time, let’s see if sales of the upcoming commercial versions can keep the full-time development going…

Still looking forward to the release i have to imagine Data wanted to get in one last beta test via IRC.

If their beta is $$ locked then there is no problem.

Unlocked he just gave them a free game. o_o

  2. Robber - # December 8th, 2007 at 5:47 am

Come on, please make a new Dev Log Post, Data. I want to see some screenshots or payment information. Please?

  3. Orindell - # December 8th, 2007 at 6:29 am

Jesus christ….GRIF AND THE OTHER IRCers got B19? Aw…Fuck it. Thats sheer favoritism. I dont care if it was just to fix the bugs, I would download the new version EVEN IF IT HAD BUGS.

  4. brinlarden - # December 8th, 2007 at 6:43 am

just lay off for gods sake. ITS JUST A GAME.
chill out you will have it soon enough.

  5. Orindell - # December 8th, 2007 at 6:45 am

Sure….Data promised an update for YESTERDAY. Or was it the day before? If they games ready, Why not release it now, Like today.

  6. Party Pancakes - # December 8th, 2007 at 7:13 am

Where’s the post with the screenshots? I NEED IT NOW!

  7. Pieman280 - # December 8th, 2007 at 7:59 am

I agree with darklink and orindell, if the game is ready I see not a single reason to hold it back.

and guys, don’t get mad at the IRC members, they showed us cool pics and if you didn’t like that then don’t go to that thread.

  8. durza - # December 8th, 2007 at 8:13 am

@Demoneyes, Aquaria is about exploring, if you don’t have the patience to spend hours wandering around then it isn’t for you.

  9. Party Pancakes - # December 8th, 2007 at 8:22 am

Where is the B19 pics thread?

  10. Pieman280 - # December 8th, 2007 at 8:37 am

@ Party Pancakes: I’m not sure. I wanted to see the pics again. 🙁

  11. Party Pancakes - # December 8th, 2007 at 8:42 am

I never even got to see the pics yet 🙁

  12. themodanater - # December 8th, 2007 at 8:43 am

@Durza, Screw patience! Im GONNA KILL something!

  13. whitty2 - # December 8th, 2007 at 8:57 am

data it is pointless to wait amy longer to release it… grif has showed people screenshots and mushroshii showed a GIF he found by guessing the filepath…

i say release it now, and everyone will love you more than if you wait any longer.

  14. AzMiLion - # December 8th, 2007 at 9:00 am

Maybe data has some things to work out with the payment system or w/e, i still find it odd that we were promised a payment details psot by data and didn’t get that.
A game getting delayed for 2-3 days i can deal with.
A promised newspost that just won’t show up is kinda annoying.

  15. Tendrop - # December 8th, 2007 at 9:20 am

Just release it now and charge us 10$ per copy. Or at least a Devlog update.

  16. whitty2 - # December 8th, 2007 at 10:07 am

    at LEAST a devlog update.

  17. Party Pancakes - # December 8th, 2007 at 10:16 am

    We need an update here!

  18. gismo93 - # December 8th, 2007 at 10:25 am

    data is sleeping

  19. Pieman280 - # December 8th, 2007 at 10:39 am

I agree with post #212. it’s just suicide to not release it.

@AzMiLion: It wasn’t 2-3 days it was over a week and I find that hard to deal with, but that’s just me. I remeber hearing the words “IT’S THE END OF NOVEMBER, THE DAY THAT THE WORLD LIVES IN PEACE AND WE ALL PLAY B19”

    *Two Weeks later*

“i WILL EXPLODE IF IT’S NOT RELEASED NOW!!!”

somehow I just knew The devlog was going to go caotic.

  20. whitty2 - # December 8th, 2007 at 10:43 am

dta isnt sleeping he lives in arizona and it is 10:43 staruday morning there.

  21. Party Pancakes - # December 8th, 2007 at 10:46 am

Data, you can’t hold this thing back any longer. You keep pushing us and pushing us! We can’t take this much longer! Or AT LEAST give us an update!

  22. AzMiLion - # December 8th, 2007 at 11:16 am

219:I’m sleeping at 10:43 AM on a saturday, data might be as well 😛

  23. Silverfish - # December 8th, 2007 at 11:19 am

Haha this release has not been pushed far enough for you to start whining about it! Some people have waited years (after the first release date) for Darkfall Online to be released, also look at Duke Nukem Forever, I think that’s even worse. Team Data have no responsibility to release CC, you should all be happy that some people actually made an awesome game like this and that you may buy it.

I don’t think they will release faster just because you want them to, so you’re better off just being quiet instead of making yourself look bad.

Looking forward to the release next weekend! 😀
    Go team, go!

  24. AzMiLion - # December 8th, 2007 at 11:22 am

    Silverfish:DNF didn’t have a promised(ish) release date, CC has

  25. Orindell - # December 8th, 2007 at 12:12 pm

Release next weekend? We were promised a release LAST weekend. But then again, I guess next summer is not that long away, Is it? *Sarcasm*

  26. Neoseeker - # December 8th, 2007 at 12:26 pm

If you guys are so pissed off at data, then just don’t buy the game.

It’s called capitalism for a reason. you don’t like shady annoying business practices, and fucking dickheads like grif, that data seems to like :/ don’t buy it.

  27. Neoseeker - # December 8th, 2007 at 12:33 pm

Either that, or shut the hell up, the game isn’t being made by a reputable source, it’s being made by a normal guys with a few other dudes, Data isn’t getting fucking paid by the hour, he isn’t being paid at all.

    Sit down, and shut up.

  28. Neoseeker - # December 8th, 2007 at 12:49 pm

Also, when in the background does cc still run and load up?

  29. Dan - # December 8th, 2007 at 1:02 pm

  31. Dan - # December 8th, 2007 at 1:08 pm

Just testing, you guys refreshing this page every 0.3 seconds like a mad monkey.

  32. Dan - # December 8th, 2007 at 1:09 pm

Just sit down relax and CC will be out before you know it.

    OH NOES NO NEW BUILD

  35. BananaFort - # December 8th, 2007 at 2:11 pm

I can’t believe this famous quote hasn’t come up yet.
“A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever.” -Shigeru Miyamoto

Sure, Cortex Command is not like other commercial games in terms of patches and payment. Sure, Data could just make another patch a couple months later.

But would you rather have a subpar playing experience with a beta that came out now or an excellent experience with a beta that will come out next week?

    Think about it.

  36. Rikino - # December 11th, 2007 at 12:11 am

Wow… I’ve been *waiting* for someone to mention the flying spaghetti monster inbedded in the ground. Do I get a prize or something for mentioning it? :p
Or did I beat around the bush too long and someone beat me to it?

Anyway, for those interested, here it is:
