Do not mean to be harsh or anything but I don’t care that much about this. A devlog post about the release of B23 could warm my heart though. ;)

  29. Woose1 - # May 1st, 2009 at 8:19 pm

    Hm. Publicity?

When did indie developers ever need that?

  30. calle - # May 2nd, 2009 at 2:38 am

Painting reminds me of “another world”. It’s nice.

  31. guiguito - # May 2nd, 2009 at 2:49 am

  32. DrMelon - # May 2nd, 2009 at 7:07 am

Aww, thanks you guys. :3 Made my day.

  33. shadow717 - # May 2nd, 2009 at 9:35 am

@25: shut the hell up. Data just got corrective eye surgery, let him rest. Build 23 will come out soon enough.

  34. Mooseral - # May 2nd, 2009 at 4:16 pm

I didn’t hear about the eye surgery. Hopefully it was correcting his lack of EYEBEAMS?

On the subject of art; it doesn’t particularly matter whether that robot appears to be “easy” to draw, as it done in a novel method of execution (as far as CC fan art has gone so far), it is aesthetically pleasing, and ultimately amusing. If they were looking for a masterpiece robot OF DOOM, they could have used Prom’s work.

Also, the whole tribute art thing. More people should draw pictures of robots, particularly CC robots. Perhaps the “I could draw better” discussion may spawn additional fan art, yes?

  35. Azukki - # May 3rd, 2009 at 12:31 am

    READ: REASONABLE SUGGESTION
Data, you should fix the infinite ammo/tracer function incompatibility issue on magazines.

Right now, when you have a magazine with tracers rounds and regular rounds, and the RoundCount is -1, (infinite) the tracer rounds aren’t used.

I’m certain the problem stems from how you went about determining the way tracer rounds are distributed throughout the magazine.

It’s not a big deal, but it’s probably fairly easily fixed, and it might as well be done sooner than later.

  36. Mooseral - # May 3rd, 2009 at 3:01 am

    ALSO AWESOME SUGGESTION:

A thought as far as movement goes, too:

The burst on the jetpack, of course, gives additional thrust at the first activation of the input. However, for a keyboard vs. gamepad game, the keyboard player has the thrust advantage as he can simply mash the jet button.

So, rather than removing the boost, or adding a timer on it (which feels unnatural) would it be possible to add an additional cost in jet fuel (or whatever the variable is) for the initial particle burst, so that a single “tank” of fuel results in the same end result? Then, more thrust would result in less overall efficiency or whatever, but the capability for a boost would be still there.

Would be a nice fix; at the moment, abusing a Coalition Heavy to carry over 9000 miniguns using the thruster mash technique is a bit wearing after a while. And yeah, stuff.

Blargh, I’m still curious about what other changes besides Lua are being made for B23. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see though, eh wot?

  37. Spacepope - # May 3rd, 2009 at 12:43 pm

Awesome : this post has nothing about B23.

    We want newz

  38. ARme - # May 6th, 2009 at 1:25 am

    Hi Data
    I’m wondering something.
You working on CC since 8 years more or less.
Did you have another job on side or did you run your own business as Indie ?
Could you explain me a bit your route and your ideas for the future ?

    Thks

  39. Spacepope - # May 6th, 2009 at 1:43 pm

    He just won 5000$.

    Nuff said.

  40. Octyl - # May 8th, 2009 at 10:26 am

  42. Alex - # May 9th, 2009 at 1:44 pm

    Yo yo yooo!
Yo yo isn’t it about time somebody dropped a dev log up in here? Just a friendly recommendation, try not to hold it in to long!

  43. Spacepope - # May 9th, 2009 at 2:52 pm

    I WANT B23 !!!

  44. Mooseral - # May 10th, 2009 at 12:22 am

Of course, I think that it is hard for everyone else to not concur with Alex’s statement due to it’s inherent truthfulness as a good idea in the mindset of many posters.

    And stuff.

  45. Spacepope - # May 10th, 2009 at 4:15 am

    JUST FUCKIN RELEASE B22bis

You know you guys also got a mention in PcGamer right??? They even had the demo version on their mnonthly disc. I know i’ve reccomended this game to people who read it so…

  54. Metalray - # August 12th, 2009 at 3:18 pm

    Hi Data

Actually I was wondering if you living from Cortex Command, from your Game Studio or if you have a day job ?

Would be great if you could tell us a bit.
I know it’s maybe not the right place for that but when you see other comment I think it’s more related to CC than many others.

    Thanks

  55. Luke - # November 4th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
