IGF madnessWow. Just back and recovering from the alternate dimension known as the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. In the Independent Games Festival which is part of the larger GDC, Cortex Command won two (!!!) awards: Technical Excellence and the Audience Award. The latter was probably mainly due to our amazingly supportive fans here in the Data Realms community. So, thank you guys and gals; we will be doing our best giving back the love for a long time to come!

By the time the second CC award was announced during the ceremony, I was already quite drunk and lost a bet to Kyle of 2DBoy (hence the shirtless nonsense) —>

Data is going back to sleep for a few more days now; will be gradually updating the photo gallery with the complete week’s coverage. UPDATE: ALL PHOTOS ARE NOW UP

Thanks again everyone!

Cortex Command is dead for all we know. How hard is it to update the devlog every few weeks?

I’m trying to start any wars here, I’m just asking why he hasn’t posted any news about what he’s been working on in Cortex Command. It’s been 5 months since the last update and surely hes done something worth mentioning to us. Maybe he hasn’t done anything on the game for 5 months and if your okay with that your the one with the problem not me.

Great, I end saying I’m trying to start a war when I meant to say I’m not trying too. FML.

From experience, it may not seem like a big deal to put out an update, but it is! There are a lot of things developers have to worry about (especially indie developers)… features can take months to implement, and sometimes they don’t work out right. Trust me, it’s much better for Dan and for you if he updates when he’s ready. The last thing anyone wants is for Dan to burn himself out worrying about making posts.

Have faith, Dan is more machine than man.

I was talking about posting a progress update on the blog, not a new build (although that would be nice). Thanks for the progress update Data. 🙂

Gosh Data you are such a muscle man, it is almost a little scary how beefcake you are.
Also that Graveyard game, wtf, I am going to have to go find out what that is.
