I now know the meaning of fear…
    O_o

wow…that’s pretty cool… Can’t wait for the next build!

But what has this to do with Cortex Command?

One question Data, the next build has working scroll bars?

  4. Data - # December 16th, 2006 at 6:00 am

What does this not have to do with CC?! Robot bodies remote controlled by direct brain interfaces… Hello, McFly!? :p

I guess it’ll be clearer when there is an actual story line in the game.

Don’t think we’ll have time to mess with GUI fixes much… having enough trouble getting the drop ship working well.

Data, you should make CC more system moddable, you know that we could add new type of weapons, vehicles and mod the AI… Its very boring modding now, cause we have done almost everthing… But nice to see some new orginal vehicles!

I think we only need to worry about robots when they build one that can stride instead of taking teeny-tiny steps.

Once that day comes, we’re pretty much boned. 😉

    I get it.

  8. JLrep - # December 16th, 2006 at 9:41 am

Punisher: Well, we’ve done almost every _easy_ mod, that’s true. But how many different maps have been put on the forums so far? Like three? And how many totally new actors (not just skins or changed strength)? I don’t know of any.

  9. The Punisher - # December 16th, 2006 at 11:10 am

JLREP: You do agree that we need a more moddalbe engine, hmmm??

  10. JLrep - # December 16th, 2006 at 11:14 am

In addition, yes, that would be great. Although… most heavy modding in games is based on events and triggers and basic computer logic… and at this stage in development CC has basically none of that (the only significant thing that can happen in a game is that you can lose).

Good things come to those who wait.

    So true… So true…

  12. Data - # December 16th, 2006 at 3:16 pm

It probably won’t happen for this title, but we intend to make more games with the same core engine after CC. Then, we are almost sure to expose lua scripting to everyone as well.

But it’s also true that you can do a lot more with the stuff available for CC, and we’re also going to expose moe internal variables as we move along and refine quickly hacked implementations.

  13. futuramaguy42 - # December 17th, 2006 at 7:55 am

That means we will get to shoot people to bits in more games

    awesome

also maybe there should be a test mode for people to test ou the engine

it wouldnt be much just like a white screen with a button for a
rocket and a button for an enemy

  14. Alenth - # December 19th, 2006 at 10:57 pm

And you deemed impact explosions impossible! They are released, Me and FF both did it today working separately along the same lines.

Data, since .ini files are compiled at the initialization of each game, can’t we make it load differnet values for things based on teh game difficulty, et cetera?

? the movie wont load i click the play button and it goes pause for 1 second and then its back to play

  16. makeshifter - # December 20th, 2006 at 10:43 pm

i got it too work holy mother of crud i want a toy like that.
my only hope is that when we finally get this thing super happinin’ just like cortex command we wont feel pain. that would suck i mean whats the point in eternal life if you are handicapped by pain. and i don’t see peace happening with this new found technology. hell there will probably be more war. i guess I’m saying do we really want technology to advance.

not long ago me and my dad were talking about “The Future” because of the moonbase stuff. He said that eventually we’ll all have microchips in our heads so we can think as fast as a computer, i said we should have an optional hat instead, but he said that there wouldn’t be an instant responce.

    This movie proves him wrong.

MAKESHIFTER- It could be argued that any inovation used in war can be used in peace. Just the other day I saw a special on the Science Channel about how when the moon colonization begins, it will be possible the launch ships off of the moon (To Mars) by using a kind of “space parachute” and a small atomic/nuclear bomb.
And when I see this awesome little guy move around the room and do even simple activities, it gives me hope of this guy’s great grandkids will be defusing bombs in Iraq, searching for survivors in earthquake zones in California, and even serving your food to you at McDonalds.

ThatHippyMan ya i guess but think of this. even if you are fighting for peace. you would still be in a war fighting a war and by fighting this war you will create more war. war it seems is the inevitable conclusion to every thing on our planet.

p.s. my main point in that last comment was will we feel pain in a future such as this. but its always fun talking philosophy.
