  4. AquaGeneral - # March 6th, 2007 at 2:30 pm

  6. Kaito - # March 6th, 2007 at 2:49 pm

  7. Alechs - # March 6th, 2007 at 3:33 pm

Man I wish I was a devoted developer, and lived in san fransisco were everythings better =[.

  8. Tomaster - # March 6th, 2007 at 4:11 pm

  9. Cluckmoo - # March 6th, 2007 at 4:53 pm

    3 years

  10. Munchkin - # March 6th, 2007 at 6:14 pm

Alechs, “the grass is always greener on the other side”

And by the way nice pick can’t wait for more updates

P.S: I am not too far from San Fransisco (I am in Menlo Park):D

  11. Kokits - # March 6th, 2007 at 7:41 pm

Cluckmoo, don’t complain that the new build isn’t out, this game is FREEWARE and he makes NO money from this game. Having an awesome freeware game that’s actually updated often is rare. BE HAPPY.

  12. B0b - # March 6th, 2007 at 8:06 pm

Tomaster shouldn’t be asking in the first place…

Get a life for Christ’s sake.

Can’t Data have some time AWAY from working on the next build?

    Give him a damn break…

  13. AquaGeneral - # March 6th, 2007 at 10:07 pm

I don’t like the idea of this game bing freeware. It has to much of a potential to be a free ware game.

If this game is released for free for PC would make an XBLA release a waste because you will be like “should I buy CC for Xbox 360 or get it for free on PC”?

I recon when the game is finished it shoud cost around $15.

Please, look at CC. Everyone loves it so much. It will need to cost something for the final build.

  14. Juggz - # March 7th, 2007 at 3:42 am

    It’s going to…

  15. UndeadHawk - # March 7th, 2007 at 6:56 am

Oh it will cost money allright…

    You count on that…

I don’t think so, the guys that make this game have other jobs, this is kind of a part time kinda thing, unlike some games, which pay for people’s lives.

  17. Persh - # March 7th, 2007 at 10:31 am

It’s been known for a long time that we will have to pay for the final version of Cortex Command. This is just a sort’ve beta of it.

  18. AGENT15 - # March 7th, 2007 at 10:38 am

Arg, I want the new build! Fortunately the coop will last me a while. I would pay twenty dollars for Cortex Command, just so the developers can be successful since this game deserves a medal of funk.

  19. PromoStarr - # March 7th, 2007 at 10:40 am

Yeh well some people do both, make games and get money for it and have a day-job. So you never know….

  20. Lazyfaith - # March 7th, 2007 at 10:50 am

great pic, hope you guys got some great ideas whilst you were talking to the other people SERIOUSLY instead of just playying games for 4 days….actualy i think the games thing would be better, more ideas 🙂 I dont think this game will cost, maybe they might have some companies advertise in the game whilst it is loading e.g. nazi german loading index.ini and then at the side it says “got to germany for a great holiday deal, http://www.germanair.com” adverts to do with mods hmmm….probably not a good idea but please dont make us pay for it please!!!!!!!!!

    !Typo Alert!

  22. Kokits - # March 7th, 2007 at 7:51 pm

Honestly, I do not want the final version to be freeware. It seems only fair, right? He’s been working his butt off to get all these different builds out, and to meet OUR demands, that if he doesn’t make money off of it, then it would have been a waste of time. So seriously, if you don’t want to pay a measly 15 bucks for an awesome game, then you can play the betas.

  23. whef - # March 7th, 2007 at 8:02 pm

dont say that you want it to be money just yet moron!:P I dont want to have to spend money on the game until its done! Don’t give data any ideas.

  24. Master Pimp - # March 8th, 2007 at 12:29 am

I want the final version to cost 15-20$ because if Data make enough money off of his game perhaps he will make Cortex Command 2.

Of course I a thinking far far ahead but still.

  25. Juggz - # March 8th, 2007 at 5:34 am

i’d pay that, though i lack pay pal or credit card so i cant… *sigh*

  26. Omni (Omnimmotus) - # March 8th, 2007 at 12:45 pm

    I wouldn’t complain.

Data, networking: the greatest thing you can do for yourself. You’re not there to see to games, or find out new things, you’re there to network. Remember that.

  27. Muffinmonkey - # March 10th, 2007 at 12:48 pm

Remember how much you love us

    And tell everyone that

That will prove how godlike CC is

  28. Persh - # March 10th, 2007 at 1:28 pm

    Network both literally and not.

I want my goddamn TCP/IP play RIGHT NOW.

  29. BreenedandScrooned - # March 11th, 2007 at 2:56 pm

    It’ll come (maybe) eventually, Persh.

  30. AquaGeneral - # March 12th, 2007 at 3:12 am

  31. Afroded - # March 15th, 2007 at 12:09 pm

  33. Afroded - # March 15th, 2007 at 12:14 pm

    |:) OMG UNIBROW!!!!!

  34. sylverone - # March 15th, 2007 at 2:11 pm

The game is going to cost money! This project was started when? Around 2002, right? That’s roughly 5 years now! If five years + however much longer it takes before the final game comes out have been dumped into the game, it would be silly to release it as freeware. There are plenty of people willing to pay for the final game!

Along those lines, I think that the time when we’ll stop seeing beta builds is when everything but Campaign mode is finished. We will probably get a short teaser of Canpaign mode and then we will have to buy the game to see any more. Of course, there will probably be other things built in that we won’t see unless we buy it as well. Data! Give the final game unlockable secrets!

Also, if they can get some money off of this game, Cortex Command online might not be just a dream! If money can be gathered, good servers could be built! So buy the final game!

  35. Munchkin - # March 15th, 2007 at 4:22 pm

Though i agree with you because many people would by this including me I dont really want him to make it a buyware any way.

By the way it has been more than a week, where is he?

  36. AquaGeneral - # March 16th, 2007 at 3:21 pm

He will be back soon. Hopfully as we speak he is working on the new build.

I agree with sylverone, the games quality is to high to be free-ware. This might be the best indie game ever.

  37. Data - # March 17th, 2007 at 2:35 am

Yes I’m working on the next build… it’ll focus on AI modes. Trying ot get these guys digging for gold on their own.

    More info soon!
